Ruby Irene Dickinson, 80, of Coleman passed away Wednesday June 29, 2022 at Woodland Hospice in Mount Pleasant.  Ruby was born August 17, 1941 in Insull, Kentucky, to the late Rubin and Audrey (Tipton) Hoskins.

Ruby’s mother passed away when she was two years old.  Ruby and her sister were later raised by foster parents Ailene and Willis Cox.  Willis’ search for employment in the auto industry brought the family to Michigan.  While she may have left Kentucky at a young age, it held a special place in her heart.

Ruby’s passion was cooking and baking.  If you ever visited Ruby, you knew you were going to be fed and would go home with a homemade cookie!  She had a green thumb and loved raising house plants, feeding birds and squirrels, bluegrass music, the color red and always wanted you to bring her the winning instant lottery ticket.

Ruby is survived by her children: Marcia and Allan Methner, Donald Dickinson, Robert Dickinson, Teresa and Brad DeRoche, grandchildren: Jamy, Jeff, Donnie, Bobbie, Riley, Tyler, Tim, Lindsey and gram’s special girl, Stephanie.  Ruby also had 12 great-grandchildren, sister Christine Adcock and her children: Ruby Jean, Mary Janice and Ricky Lee.  Special friend Diane Lennox.  Ruby was preceded in death by her nephew David Wayne Nelson.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday July 6, 2022 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., with Priest Dedra Channel-Mogg officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of services.  Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or HATS Isabella County.
