Joseph J. Simlik, 87 of Coleman, died Saturday September 24, 2022 at North Woods Nursing Center, Farwell.  He was born September 19, 1935 in Wise Township the son of the late John & Agnes (Sedlek) Simlik.  Joseph J. Simlik married Lucy E. Curtis September 25, 1953 in Alma.  He retired from the Dow Chemical Company at age 50, in 1985 after 30 years of employment.  Joe and Lucy wintered in Florida for 25 years.  He was a lifetime farmer in the Coleman area.  Joe collected pedal tractors and loved auction sales.  Joe and Lucy traveled all over the U.S. including Alaska and Canada in their RV. 
 
Survivors include his wife Lucy, children: Kim & Brian McNett of Sanford, Curt & Diana Simlik of Mt. Pleasant, Tammy & Dave Miller of Clare, 8 grandchildren: Chris & Lauryn McNett, Samantha & Don Dryer, John Simlik & Bettina Collier, Karen & Brandon Zileski, Nicholas & Tracy Miller, Eric Miller & Ashley Hinck, 7    great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Joe was also preceded in death by his grandchildren Tracy Lynn Simlik and Kelly J. McNett and brother Jerry Simlik.
 
Funeral and committal services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday September 28, 2022 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc.   Burial will take place in the Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday starting at 10 am until the time of services.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Coleman Senior Center.
