Nellie May (McFarland) Harsh, age 93, of Coleman, died Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Brittany Manor in Midland, with her family by her side.

Nellie was born March 9, 1929, in Coleman, daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Rilett) McFarland. She married Leroy “Roy” Harsh on December 21, 1945, in Midland. Nellie worked for the Coleman Community Schools, helped Roy with is construction company, and raised her seven children. She had a great reputation for loving her family, baking, sewing and spending time with the love of her life, Roy, until his death on May 3, 2003.

Nellie is survived by her five sons and two daughters, Ron (Candy) Harsh, Pam (Steve) Johnson, Rick (Linda) Harsh, Randy (Dawn) Harsh, Rory (Julie) Harsh, all of Coleman, Robbin (Trese) Harsh of Lake, and Lori (Scott) Davis of Clare; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Esther Gordon; and her favorite little dog, “Lady”.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Harsh; and three brothers, Wally, Bernard, and Bill McFarland.

Funeral Services for Nellie be held at O’Laughlin Funeral Home on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeremiah Ketchum from Brown Corners Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Warren Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Coleman Wesleyan Church following the interment. The family will received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 9, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coleman Area Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
