David Dennis Jenkins, Sr., of Coleman died Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at McLaren Medical Center, Mt. Pleasant. He was born April 11, 1944 in Highland Park, Michigan the son of the late Albert Edward & Margaret Cora (Howden) Jenkins.

David married Kathleen Delany on June 20, 1964 in Detroit. She died April 21, 1976. He then married Susan “Becky” Hawkins July 15, 1978 in Clawson. She also preceded him in death on September 6, 2014. Dave enjoyed camping, woodworking, canoeing, his guitar, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his children: David & April Jenkins, Jr. of Columbus, Georgia, Christine & James Schulte of Franklin, Tennessee, Jeffrey & Maria Jenkins of Lake Orion, Michigan, grandchildren: Michael, Katie, Trevor, Travis, Kelsey, Patrick, Margaret, Robert & Kelsey (Hikade), great-grandchildren: Reagan, Gabriella, Elijah, sister Mary Shefferly of Grass Lake, nieces and nephews. Dave was also preceded in death by his grandson Joshua Jenkins and brother Daniel Jenkins.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
