Roderick W. “Rod” Middleton, 87, of Coleman went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday March 31, 2024, at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.

Rod married his wife Judy June 22, 1957, in Coleman, and they shared 66 beautiful years together.

Rod graduated from Coleman High School, married, worked, and raised his children in Coleman. Rod worked as a design engineer and was a hardworking family man of many talents. He was a gifted woodworker and took great pride in the pieces that he built. Rod was also a talented musician and could play many different musical instruments. Alongside his wide Judy, the two of them played music together at the local senior centers for 12 years. Above all, Rod’s favorite hobby was bass fishing with family and friends, and swapping fishing stories. He was a known jokester and had the most contagious smile.

Survivors include his wife Judy, his daughters: Roslyn & Steve Brownell, Shelly Reim, Terri Nolan, Lorie Kuhn and her significant other David Garcia, Holly Middleton, along with 7 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
