​Ford L. Barber, 87 of Coleman, died Monday September 16, 2024, with family by his side, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland.  He was born March 9, 1937 in Clare the son of the late Clayton & Daisy (Schaar) Barber.
 
Ford married Barbara J. Hund April 14, 1956 in Coleman.  She preceded him in death July 29, 2008.  He retired from the Dow Chemical Company in 1996 after 39 years of service.  Ford enjoyed farming, woodworking, the outdoors: hunting, fishing and camping.  His greatest joy was time spent with his family. 
 
Survivors include his children: Jerry & Kathy Barber of Coleman, Debbie & Larry Lyon of Clarendon, PA, Penny & Mike Verona of San Antonio, TX, Sandy & Tony Geiger of Beaverton, Diane Spitler of Beaverton, Jeff & Brenda Barber of Beaverton, daughter-in-law Kelly Barber of Gladwin, 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  Ford was also preceded in death by his daughter Karen Maynard, son Scott Barber, grandchildren, Douglas L. McLachlan, Amber Maynard, son-in-law Robert “Bob” Spitler, Jr., brother Carl Barber and sister Jean Teeter.       
 
Funeral and committal services will be held 11:00 am Friday September 20, 2024 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Martin Hodge officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Friday starting at 10 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund.
