John E. Quinn, 88, of Coleman, died at home Tuesday September 5, 2017. He was born August 3, 1929 in Detroit the son of the late Earl & Mildred (Glenn) Quinn.
John married his wife Sharon June 11, 1983 in Coleman. He retired from Garber Buick in 1986 after 20 years of service. John served with the U.S. Army Air Corps. during WWII he was stationed in Japan. He was a member of the Sanford American Legion post #443 and of the Coleman VFW Post #1071. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, wood crafts, gardening, cutting wood and traveling to visit family and friends. Most of all he loved being a husband, dad, grandpa and friend. John was a very caring, honest and one of a kind person. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Along with his wife Sharon, John is survived by his children: Deborah Asch & fiancée Geno, Jim (Denise)Quinn, Becky (Mark) Athey, Rick & Janell Thomas, son-in-law Bob Fettig, grandchildren: Haley, Mandi, Wendy, Tiana, Rick, Julia, Candace, Taylor, Rebecca, Lacey, Justine, Adam, Alexa, Nikki, Bobby, Stacie, Markus, Gracie, Karlie, great-grandchildren: Katy, Abbey, Ryan, Aiden, Abby, Elley, Kal, Teddy, Kira, Amelia, Josie, June, Lena, Mia, Amira, Ariana, Mariah, and he is also survived by his loving wife’s special siblings.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday September 16, 2017 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., Coleman, with Pastor Kris Remington officiating. Friends may call on Saturday starting at 10 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to MidMichigan Home Care.
