Ronald L. Geeck, 84, of Coleman, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday October 24, 2015, while at MidMichigan Stratford Village, Midland, with his family by his side. He was born May 21, 1931 in Clare the son of the late Perry & Marie (Garchow) Geeck. Ron married Sharen K. Fike August 20, 1960 in Shepherd. She died August 16, 2005. Ron served with the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He owned and operated Geck Painting for over 50 years, and was a lifetime farmer. Ron was a Deacon of Living Word Church where he had been a member for many years. His grandchildren were one of his greatest joys.
Survivors include his children: Jeffrey Geeck & Ronni Robinson of Coleman, Jeanette & Dan Retzloff of Midland, Jon & Amy Geeck of Coleman, grandchildren: Alicia, Kortney, Kateri, Raymond, Tripp Ronald & Treva, great-grandchildren: Tucker, Sage & Rylan, brother Edward & Carol Geeck of ID, sister Eunice Methner of Coleman, sisters-in-law, Mary Geeck of Coleman and Carmen Geeck of TX, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers William & Perry “Richard” Geeck.
Funeral and committal services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday October 29, 2015 at the Living Word Church in Midland with Pastor Mark T. Barclay officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., Coleman, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and at the church on Thursday starting at 12 noon until the time of services. The family would like to extend a personal thank you to the staff at MidMichigan Stratford Village and to the friends Ron made there. Memorials may be directed to the family.
