​Leonard D. Urbaniak, 91, of Coleman, died Tuesday August 8, 2023 at Coleman Fields Assisted Living, with his family by his side.  He was born November 17, 1931 in Pinconning the son of the late Walter & Caroline (Balchunas)Urbaniak. 
 
Leonard married Dorothy Ann Patrick December 29, 1954 in Pinconning.  She preceded him in death January 9, 2002.  He then married Ernestine Z. Callahan April 26, 2003 in Coleman. 
 
Leonard served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was employed at Lapham Associates in Clare, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of employment.  Leonard was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Sanford, and achieved 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus 8043.  He was very active in Edenville Township, serving on the Planning Board, Board of Review, Zoning Board and Land Division.  Leonard enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s athletic events. 
 
Survivors include his wife Ernestine of Coleman, children: Daniel & Denise Urbaniak of Coleman, Jim & Janice Urbaniak of Coleman, Joseph & Robin Urbaniak of Pinconning, Gary & Babylyn Urbaniak of Freeland, step-children, Cynthia & Michael King of Coleman, Colleen & Eric McRae of Clare, 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  Leonard was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and 1 sister. 
 
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday August 11, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Sanford, with Fr. Daniel Fox, OFM, Cap officiating.  Burial will take place in the New Edenville Township Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Friday starting at 10 am until the time of services.  Memorial contributions may directed to Our Lady of Grace.
