He was born November 20, 1946 to the late William and Aletha (Berg) Dole in Clare, one of ten children. Steve Married his long-time friend Norma Thompson who has preceded him in death. Steve loved to fish, tinker with things, cook and visit with friends and family. He was a truck driver by trade and could tell you what roads intercepted with what roads and which was the shortest route without taking the expressways. He drove through many states and could navigate through the large cities.

Steve is survived by his brothers Bruce (friend Brenda) of Kentucky, and Philip of Illinois; his sisters Rose Capen of North Star, Joanne Dana of Midland and Linda (Robert) Crivac of Coleman: sisters-in-law Donna Dole of Coleman and Gloria Dole of Midland. Steve is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Dave (Barb) Thompson of Clare and Mary Sattazahn of Lansing along with a myriad of nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Norma, along with brothers Richard (infant), Jerry, Edward and Glenn, brother-in-law Bill Capen and sisters-in-law Helen and Linda Dole, also preceding him in death are his mother and father-in-law Ross and Shirley Thompson, brother-in-law Ross and sisters-in-law Kathy Wellman and Karen Gaffner.

Honoring Steve’s wishes cremation will take place and he requested there be no service. His body has been entrusted to O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc, in Coleman. Burial will take place at a later date.
