​James L. Hebner, 88, died peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side, Sunday January 5, 2025. He was born May 29, 1936 in Coleman the son of the late Frank and Clara (Mortzfeldt) Hebner.
James served his country with the United States Army serving in Germany. He retired from Robinson Industries in 1995 after 43 years of employment. Jim and his wife the former Betty (House) moved to Beaverton after his retirement. They have a winter home of CoCoa Florida where they would spend their winters.
Jim loved farming, his truck, camping and going church. He enjoyed traveling to Canada on vacation. Jim and Betty had traveled to many places like Alaska and Hawaii. Jim enjoyed meeting new friends.
Survivors include his wife Betty of Beaverton, sons: Michael & Heather Hebner, Jeffrey Hebner & Lisa Torres, Roy Hebner, stepchildren: John & Jana Foss, Mary Foss, Joe & Dawn Foss, Jerry Foss, grandchildren: Ava Hebner, JP Hebner, step-grandchildren: Amanda Foss, Katie, Elise, Joe & Sarah Foss, Jennifer, Janae Foss, sister Phyllis Hlavacek, sister-in-law Phyllis Hebner, many nieces and nephews. Jim was also preceded in death by step-son Jim Foss, brothers, Franklin, Bill, sisters: Anna Costley, Sophia Finney, Martha Brugger, Clara Hoffman, Evelyn Collins, Rowena Watkins, Freda Merchant.
Funeral and committal services will be held 11:00 am Thursday January 9, 2025 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., Coleman, with Campus Director Deb Yats officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Coleman VFW Post #1071. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm and on Thursday starting at 10 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers are suggested to Eagle Ridge Beaverton Church of God or MyMichigan Michigan Home Care-Hospice.
