​Evelyn I. Vogel, 89, of Midland died Tuesday February 4, 2025 at MyMichigan Medical Center, Midland.  She was born March 19, 1935 in Geneva Township, Midland County, the daughter of the late Lawrence & Hilda (Rankey) Dana.
 
The work ethic learned from growing up on a farm carried her through life.  Whether it was working in the yard, helping a neighbor or friend or volunteering, she gave it her full attention.  She enjoyed visits with family whether it was her grandsons’ events, sporting events for nieces and nephews or visiting over games or a puzzle.  Her true love was her flower garden which she took great pride in and spent endless hours cultivating. 
 
Survivors include her daughter Kellie & Brian Prokuda of Fenton, grandson Mathew, brother Charles Dana of Coleman, sisters: Ruth Curtis of Midland, Esther Cadman of Sanford, Rose & Robert Carrow of Georgia, Jan & Oscar Hendrick of Colorado, Patricia & David Smithkey of Flushing, Rhoda & Paul “Joe” Toth of Coleman, many nieces and nephews.  Evelyn was also preceded in death by her brothers Donald and Merlin and sister Mary. 
 
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday February 8, 2025 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Scott Hayes officiating.  Burial will take place in the Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday starting at 10 am until the time of services.  Memorials are suggested to the Coleman Area Library.
