Wanda L. Beamish, 77, of Coleman, passed away on April 15th, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a 10-year battle with Frontotemporal Degenerative Dementia. She was born March 24, 1948 in Bay City, the daughter of the late George & Irene (Gary) MacKenzie.

Wanda L. MacKenzie married Leslie L. “Butch” Beamish July 23, 1966 in Sanford. Wanda was the patient, loving, and supportive wife to Leslie Beamish of Coleman, MI, for 58 years, who will greatly miss her.

Wanda was the heart of her family and the bond that held everyone together. She cherished her three daughters and absolutely adored her five granddaughters—making each one feel like her favorite. To her granddaughters, she was lovingly known as Mimi, a title she wore with pride and joy.

Growing up, Wanda was actively involved in 4-H with a natural gift for horses.

Wanda never turned down an invitation to go shopping, never left the house without her lipstick, and never forgot to remind her family to be kind and to never speak poorly of others. She found comfort and warmth in the little things, especially a quiet morning with a hot cup of coffee in her hands.

Wanda made friends everywhere she went, whether it was snowmobiling through Michigan winters or strolling through classic car shows. She loved time at the family cottage, where boating and fishing brought her peace and joy.

She never missed a moment that mattered. From every sporting event and 4-H show to proms and homecomings, Wanda was there cheering, supporting, and beaming with pride. Her presence was a constant source of encouragement and love.

Not only did she raise her three daughters with unwavering care and strength, but shortly after retiring, Wanda selflessly stepped into the role of caregiver, this time for both her mother and her mother-in-law. Her nurturing spirit and boundless compassion touched generations of her family.

In her later years, Wanda was blessed with many wonderful caregivers, but none more dear than Tabitha Carson, whose gentle presence and loving care brought comfort to Wanda. Wanda will be missed every single day, but we’ll carry her with us—in our hearts, in our stories, and in the way we love others, just as she taught us.

Survivors include her husband, “Butch,” of Coleman; daughters: Lisa Torres of Midland, Michelle and Mark Bone of Midland, and Sarah and Matt Graham of Rosebush; granddaughters: Macy Doster, Kenadee Torres, Marlee Bone, Matilda Graham, and Sally Graham; brothers: LeRoy and Bonnie MacKenzie of Coleman, and George and Val MacKenzie of Sanford; sister: Nancy and Ronald Konopnicki of Coleman; several nieces, nephews, and special friends, Loren and Mary Simon.

Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Alan MacKenzie.
