Joan A. Bower, 79, of Coleman died at home, with her family by her side, Monday November 20, 2023. She was born May 8, 1944 in Midland the daughter of the late Hans & Helene (Kroll) Herhold.
Joan A. Herhold married Daniel H. Bower June 23, 1962 in Rosebush. He preceded her in death September 1, 1997. Joan enjoyed gardening, canning and bird watching, her favorite being the cardinal. She did not enjoy football. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Timothy & Lori Bower of Mt. Pleasant, Greg Bower of Coleman, Karen Crawford (John) of Clare, grandchildren: Stacey & Michael Giester of Clare, Cassie & Donald Haggart of Clare, Kevin Crawford, Jr. of Azle, Texas, Brittany Bower of Midland, Blake Bower of Mt. Pleasant, great-grandchildren: Colt, Carrigan, Cooper, Gaige, Brayden, Kami, Willliam, Wyatt, Rylee, Stella, Payton, several nieces and nephews. Joan was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Crystal Bower, brothers Phillip and John Herhold, sister Berniece Jones.
Funeral services will be private with burial in the Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman.
