Lori Ruth MacKenzie of Midland, age 59, died at home unexpectedly on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Lori Ruth Carney was born in Clare November 4, 1963. She married Allen G. Mackenzie and he preceded her in death April 21, 1992.
Survivors include her daughter Rachel & Jake Schocknesse of Coleman, grandchildren Blake Verrett, Logan Schocknesse, sister Jackie Snell of Nashville Tennessee, nieces and nephews including Gabrielle, Christina and Chawn, and step-children Dominic and Julian Mogg. Lori was also preceded in death by her mother Leona “Sue” Carney Gould, uncle Earl Larson, aunts Shirley Thering and Nancy Hubble.
Lori had the biggest heart, the best sense of humor, and a giant love for animals. She spent her life as a caregiver and enjoyed taking care of people’s animals. Lori was always down for a good time and was the life of the party. She touched many lives and will be cherished and missed by her family and friends.
A Celebration of Lori’s life will be held at the Mayhew Barn, 5130 N. Alamando Road, in Coleman on September 9th at 5pm. Family and friends will gather for food and drinks, and to share wonderful memories of her life.
